Eutaw employees came out in force to help individuals that were affected by the devastation of the EF-5 tornado that struck Monroe County in northeast Mississippi on April 27th. Many of those affected were co-workers, families and associates of Eutaw Construction. Eutaw’s primary mission is helping others especially those in need in Mississippi, since they are our employees, clients and fellow citizens. Eutaw’s efforts included bringing heavy equipment to the site to move mounds of debris and clearing the area for redevelopment. Employees worked diligently to clear the local cemetery so funerals could begin being held as early as the first Sunday after the tornado.

The Bay St. Louis Bridge has been named the winner of the People’s Choice Award by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO). The People’s Choice Award is voted on by the people and this bridge project was among ten projects competing for the award. The Bay St. Louis Bridge won the award by receiving 55,000 votes. The pre-existing bridge was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Granite Archer Western was the prime contractor for this project with Eutaw Construction’s role that of a major subcontractor. Eutaw constructed the bridge approaches at both ends of the bridge and also excavated and deepened the channels in the bay to allow for access to the bridge for construction barges. Eutaw is proud to be a part in not only the construction of an award winning bridge but helping in the redevelopment of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
