West Point, Mississippi – Yokohama Tire Manufacturing Facility

This $14 million project consisted of earthwork/mass grading operations for Yokohama Tire Manufacturing Mississippi, LLC. Yokohama Tire Corporation is the North American manufacturing and marketing arm of Tokyo, Japan-based The Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd.  This is Yokohama’s first U.S facility to be built from the ground up, and will be producing commercial truck tires.  The work consists of 1.4 million cubic yards of excavation, 740,000 cubic yards of select fill and over 11,000 feet of storm drain needed to construct the 4 building pads, the rail road spur, and the necessary roads and parking for the plant. The project was split into 4 phases (building pads). Each phase was approximately 23 acres and required a 4.5 foot select fill buffer under the building.  In order to meet the Phase 1 milestone Eutaw moved over 1.3 million cubic yards of excavation and placed all the select fill to complete Phase 1 in just 60 working days.

 

Burnsville, Mississippi – Site Grading for Mississippi Silicon Corporation

This project consists of Site Development and Grading Operations for an upcoming steel production facility in which Mississippi Silicon Corporation, will be utilizing a submerged arc furnace to superheat raw materials to produce silicon metal in Burnsville, Ms. The project’s main scope of work includes approximately 40 acres of clearing and grubbing, 165,000 cubic yards of earthwork, and storm drain. Other aspects include contractor assistance for other trades as well as roadways and pad areas maintenance.

Oxford, Mississippi – Site Grading for Baptist Memorial Hospital

This $6.3 million project consisted of mass grading a 78 acre site for future construction of a new Baptist Memorial Hospital as well as constructing a four-lane roadway through the site connecting Old Taylor Road and Lamar Street, now known as Belk Boulevard. The diverse project consisted of clearing and grubbing the 78 acre site, approximately 800,000 CY of unclassified excavation, 4,200 LF of storm drainage system, curb & gutter and hot-mix asphalt. Other major items involved with the project were the placement of 19,000 Tons of crushed limestone base, demolition of an existing school structure, construction of a 900 CY triple-barrel box culvert, landscaping, electrical and erosion control.

Lowndes County, Mississippi – SeverCorr Steel Mill

This project was a 1400 acre site, involving 175 acres of clearing and grubbing, excavation of 4 million CY of 6′-12′ of expansive clay overburden that was stockpiled on-site and Demopolis chalk, that was ripped, broken down and stockpiled on-site. It also include the construction of a 36 acre and a 15 acre detention pond which included 645,000 CY of excavation. There was excavation and backfill of 53′ deep foundations for the new plant facility. Eutaw also constructed and graded 125,000 square yards of railroad, installed 5,000 linear feet of storm drain pipe structures.
