Bay St. Louis Bridge Wins National Award

The Bay St. Louis Bridge has been named the winner of the People’s Choice Award by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO). The People’s Choice Award is voted on by the people and this bridge project was among ten projects competing for the award. The Bay St. Louis Bridge won the award by receiving 55,000 votes. The pre-existing bridge was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Granite Archer Western was the prime contractor for this project with Eutaw Construction’s role that of a major subcontractor. Eutaw constructed the bridge approaches at both ends of the bridge and also excavated and deepened the channels in the bay to allow for access to the bridge for construction barges. Eutaw is proud to be a part in not only the construction of an award winning bridge but helping in the redevelopment of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
